"Quality house music, from deep in the underground, brought to you by an excitable German. This is music for people in the know."
―GTA San Andreas Website

San Fierro Underground Radio (SF-UR) is a radio station in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which plays house music. It is hosted by the German house-music enthusiast Hans Oberlander (voiced by Lloyd Floyd), who is bilingual, being able to speak both English and German, occasionally alternating between the two during his commentary. As the name suggests, SF-UR is broadcast from a secret location in San Fierro.

Trivia

  • This is the favourite radio station of the San Fierro Triads, Da Nang Boys and Prostitutes.
  • This is the only radio station which doesn't feature any station IDs, and the only radio station that doesn't have any renditions of the songs without the DJ commentary.
  • SF-UR plays inside Victim and Didier Sachs clothing stores.
  • A Guy Called Gerald's "Voodoo Ray" and Frankie Knuckles' "Your Love" play in Nightclubs when not doing the dancing minigame.
  • This is the only music radio station in the game not to be included in the 8-CD Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas: Official Soundtrack Box Set.
  • Despite Hans claiming that this station is commercial-free, commercials can be heard on it, like in any other of the radios in the game, which is logical due to the brand new randomized radio mechanics introduced in GTA San Andreas.
  • In the mobile and re-released versions of GTA San Andreas, SF-UR, CSR 103.9 and K-Rose are the only stations to retain all the songs from the original game.
  • Hans said that he doesn't want to go rehab, and he said that "he's learning from watching his father". This quote can be heard in the '87 PSA commercial by Partnership for A Drug-Free America.
